Progress Measure Scores:

Progress scores are created from averaging the children’s KS1 Average Point Score (APS) in reading, writing and maths. This score is then used to compare the results of the KS2 SATS with all children with the same average KS1 APS. If a child in the school achieves a higher mark than the average of their ability level then they get a + score, if they perform worse then it becomes a negative score.

The school progress measure is based on averaging the whole class’s scores.
