Deeping St James C.P. School

Inspire to learn, achieve together

Pupil Premium

Every child should be given the chance to realise their potential at school, regardless of their background.

What is the pupil premium?

The pupil premium is extra money for schools to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities achieve their full potential.

The amount of pupil premium funding schools receive is decided by how many disadvantaged pupils they have – schools then receive funding per pupil premium-eligible child.

Your child may be eligible for additional support in school, please do check to ensure you are not missing out.

There is a universal eligibility checking service which enables us to check eligibility for Pupil Premium Funding for all primary school children. This means schools will receive some extra funding per eligible pupil to fund valuable support such as learning support or to provide for exciting experiences within the curriculum.

You may not realise that your child is entitled to Pupil Premium so we encourage you to register as this may entitle you to a range of assistance such as music lessons, school trips, school uniform, free school meals for those in Key Stage 2, as well as additional support in the classroom.

If you are entitled, then this funding will be available for your child throughout all of their years at primary school, which amounts to a huge benefit for our school and the children.

This funding is available to pupils whose parents are in receipt of, one or more of the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)

  •  Income Support

  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

  •  Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

  • The guarantee element of Pension Credit

  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)

  • Working Tax Cedit run-on-paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

To help enable us to claim the correct level of funding, we would encourage you to register using the

Lincolnshire Parent Portal

Please log in or create an account using the button at the top of the screen and update the details for your child.

Confirmation is usually received within a few days if they are entitled.

We assure you that school will not be able to access any of your personal details; Lincolnshire County Council store your data securely, and it will be checked periodically for eligibility.

Please do speak to the office for any support with this.
